iciHaiti - insecurity: Hijacking of 5 «Comme il Faut» cigarette trucks
Jean Dany Pierre-François Vice-president of public relations of La Compagnie des Tabacs Comme il Faut S.A. informed in a correspondence Frédérique Leconte, the Director of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) that on May 11, 2022 around 8:30 a.m., a convoy of 5 trucks of the company, loaded with 4,860 cases of cigarettes, "Comme il faut" with a market value of more than one million US dollars, was hijacked by heavily armed bandits at the bottom of Delmas, in the vicinity of the Directorate of Vehicle Traffic Control Service.

This convoy was on its way to the National Port Authority (APN) to load the 5 trucks onto a barge which was to transport them to Carrefour so that they could continue their route there, and delivering cigarettes to various towns in the Department of South.

These trucks were escorted by two pick-ups (Ford AA-18069 and Chevrolet Colorado AA-18076) which were also hijacked by the bandits after attacking the officers in charge of the security of the convoy, the 4 12-gauge rifles (P -312040, R-249216, R-249424 and MV-18493) were taken away by the attackers.
