Thursday afternoon May 19, 2022, as part of the Caribbean Club Championship, Violette Athletic Club (VAC) on the lawn of the Cibao FC stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic, qualified for the grand final of the tournament champion clubs of the Caribbean, winning the semi-final against Waterhouse FC of Jamaica with the score of [3-1]

Still, VAC's journey in this competition has been marred by difficulty. Le Violette (last national champion) lost in the first match against Cibao FC (his opponent in the final) with the score of [3-0,] before catching up 48 hours later against Cavalier SC, [3-2], victory which allowed the VAC to qualify for the semi-finals.

In the final, this Sunday May 22, 2022 at 8:00 p.m., still at the Cibao FC stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros, the Violette Athletic Club will face Cibao FC.

A Sunday victory for "Vieux Tigre" would allow national football to retain the title of Caribbean champion, since the previous winner is the Cavaly AS of Léogâne.

Let's recall that the VAC has already won the Concacaf club championship title in 1984.
