iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : Partnership project between the Town Hall and the Public University of the North in Cap 01/07/2022 11:32:47
A working meeting between the Cap-Haitien City Council and the leaders of UPNCH, including the Rector Dr. Joram Vixamer, will be held during this month of July to finalize the terms of the agreement and schedule a date for the ceremony signature at the Hall of the Town Hall. Excerpt from the draft Memorandum of Understanding : "[...] Aware of the importance of an agreement between the two institutions for their strengthening and the socio-economic development of the commune of Cap-Haitien; Considering the need to strengthen the experimental and practical knowledge of students in Local Governance of UPNCH after their theoretical learning as well as the need to strengthen the management of the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien to meet the current and future challenges of local development; Considering the role of the University; The Town Hall of Cap-Haitien and the UPNCH have agreed on a number of topics for future partnership that will contribute to the common objectives set out in the protocol and which could serve as the basis of an action plan. These are in particular: The promotion of local development in the country and the organization of academic activities, in particular internships for the benefit of UPNCH students in the municipal administration; The organization of continuous training for the benefit of the executives of the Municipality; The direct integration into the Master's program in Economics and Management of Territorial Communities (MEGCT) each year of three executives from the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien that have the necessary levels and skills; The annual granting of funding to at least 5 students from UPNCH for the realization of their research work on trades and territorial challenges; The development by the UPNCH of scientific documents surrounding territorial professions for the benefit of municipal executives; The creation, development and organization of events and joint projects in the fields of Education, Science and Culture.
