Tuesday August 2rd, 2022 early in the morning, following an alert launched by the Intelligence and Operations Center (CRO), police officers from the West 1 department police stations were mobilized to intercept suspicious individuals traveling in 2 vehicles : a Mitsubishi DID, registered AA-40596 and a canter belonging to the Town Hall of Port-au-Prince.

As part of an operation carried out at Poste Marchand, under heavy fire from the police, the individuals fled, abandoning their balaclavas and their weapons (two AR-15 assault rifles) and their vehicles in the hands of the police.

The PNH points out that in recent days, armed bandits have tended to use vehicles bearing plates of public or private institutions to commit acts of banditry, including kidnappings.
