iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 35 accidents at least 139 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from August 29 to September 4, 2022, 35 accidents on national territory (-14.6% compared to the previous bulletin https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-37539-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-437-increase-in-deaths-on-our-roads.html made at least 139 victims (-3.4%): 20 dead (-13.0%) and 119 injured (-1.65%) including several seriously...

Pétion-Ville, Trou-du-Nord, Lalue, Cayes, route de Frères, Kenscoff, Chalon (national road #2), Ouanaminthe, Pignon, Morne Casse (national road #6), Canaan, Grande Rivière du Sud (national road #2), are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on the roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
