The National Police of Haiti (PNH) urges all demonstrators and in particular the organizers of these movements to respect the limits defined by law with regard to the progress of these protest movements which take place in the streets.

While recognizing the right of everyone to make their voice heard, the police will never tolerate any attack on human life or any act of robbery and attack on human and state property.

Moreover, in a note dated September 15 bearing the signature of Frantz Elbé Acting Director General of the PNH, the General Directorate of the PNH said that it had "[...] noted that a climate of tension exists in the metropolitan area and its surroundings, and in some provincial towns for several days.

As part of its mission to protect the lives and property of citizens, the PNH informs everyone that, as part of the management of this climate of unrest, all firearms licenses are suspended until further notice."

Adding "As regards the security companies, they will make arrangements to carry out the relief on the spot."
