On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated the 264th anniversary of the birth of the leader and precursor of Haitian independence, Jean Jacques Dessalines.

Nicolas Maduro, said on social media “From Venezuela, we embrace the Haitian people on the occasion of the 264th anniversary of the birth of the hero and leader Jean Jacques Dessalines. On this date, we reiterate our support and solidarity with the Republic of Haiti.
