The Consulate of Haiti in Orlando informs the Haitian Community of Central Florida that the Consulate will be closed on Wednesday September 28 and Thursday September 29, 2022, in anticipation of the passage in the region of Hurricane IAN currently category 4.

IAN has caused considerable damage on its trajectory, especially in Cuba and poses a threat to Florida. Therefore, the Consular Post recommends that the Haitian Community of Central Florida adopt a responsible attitude in the face of this emergency situation by paying particular attention to children, the elderly and people with reduced mobility for the full safety of families and the community as a whole.

The staff of the Consular Post, while remaining concerned and united, invites the Community to respect the safety instructions of the local authorities and to follow the entire course of the event in the appropriate media for the latest information.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Miami will also be closed for these 2 days.
