iciHaiti - Football : Haitians in Asia win the «Taiwan World Cup 2022»
The annual Football Festival called "Taiwan World Cup 2022", which aims to strengthen ties between Taiwan and its international community, was held at the Fu Jen Catholic University Stadium in New Taipei on October 8 and 9, 6 women's teams and 12 men's teams made up of students and expatriates from Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Haiti, Spain, Eswatini, Nicaragua, Paraguay, from the United States, Italy and St. Lucia as well as teams from Taiwan.

This sports championship was organized by the "Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association", the Taiwanese journalist and lawyer Me Fernando Ramos and the "Taiwan Football Development Association" to promote international exchanges and create understanding and mutual trust between the Taiwanese people and their International community.

Taiwan won the women's title and the Haitian champion team in 2021, which was defending its title, once again won this Championship.

In the men's final, Haiti defeated Taiwan 3-2 in a penalty shootout after neither team scored in regulation time. Noel Lerick Sona, Haiti's captain, said when Haiti first competed five years ago they had the weakest team, but they were able to learn from their mistakes and work harder to achieve the top.

Haiti's Ambassador to Taiwan, Roudy Stanley Penn, who watched the match, said the friendship between Taiwan and Haiti on the pitch showed how football unites all countries.
