These include 17 electrolysers and water tanks that will allow DINEPA to make chlorinated drinking water accessible in areas where the institution's hydraulic infrastructure is lacking. DINEPA, which imported between 300 and 500 tonnes of chlorine per year, is able to produce chlorine to make the water drinkable. Every 2.5 hours, a chlorinator can produce 2,600 gallons of chlorine. Water tanks can store between 3 thousand and 5 thousand gallons of water. Essential equipment since DINEPA recognizes that DINEPA's biggest problem was in the availability of inputs (chlorinated products). Every year, DINEPA had to import between 300 and 500 tons, now DINEPA will be able to produce chlorine in order to purify water for rapid distribution and fight against waterborne diseases such as cholera.
