His Excellency Stefano Gatto, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union in Haiti, presented this week his cabinet letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Victor Généus.

Stefano Gatto, of Italian nationality, is in his sixth diplomatic post for the European Union, after having served in Brazil, India, Pakistan and as Head of the EU Delegation in El Salvador (2009 - 2013) and in Guatemala (2016 - 2020).

He also held responsibilities in the field of economic cooperation with Latin America and as head of EU election observation missions around the world with the EU institutions in Brussels. He is an economist and historian, and holds master's degrees in international relations and European law.
