Jean Elmita, a member of the Torcelle gang led by Vitelhomme, the wife of "Ti Gaby" as well known, was arrested by the police in Pernier (Commune of Pétion-ville).

Elmita is accused of involvement in acts of banditry : assassinations of police officers, kidnapping and association of criminals among others. She's currently in custody pending the necessary legal proceedings.

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) recalls that as part of the execution of the new security plan, it is increasing its operations in order to dismantle gangs operating throughout the country.
