Sunday January 15, 2023 the police of the Bon Repos Intervention Brigade released, in the "Moleard" area, 2 hostages during a routine check on the road.

In an attempt to flee, the bandits opened fire on the police who returned fire. In the exchange of gunfire, one of the bandits identified as "Djery" was fatally injured, his accomplices, some of whom were slightly injured, managed to escape.

The brigade seized, among other things, 3 weapons including an M4 rifle and 2 pistols.

The bandit called "Djery" was an active member of the "Kanaran" gang specializing in the hijacking of goods trucks, theft, rape, kidnappings, etc...
