It is with deep sadness that engineer Rosemond Pradel, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications, learned of the death of engineer Léon Jean Marie Guillaume, Director General of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL), which occurred in the age of 64 on Monday, January 16, around one o'clock in the morning, in a hospital center in Florida (USA), following cancer.

Engineer Léon Jean Marie Guillaume led CONATEL twice, between September 2011 and March 2016 and then from October 2019 to January 16, 2023. His death represents a huge loss for Haiti.

In this painful circumstance, Eng Pradel, sends, in his personal name and that of all the executives and employees of the Ministry, his most sincere sympathies to the members of his family, to his close collaborators as well as to all the employees of CONATEL.
