iciHaiti - Migration : 8 Haitians with fake transit visas arrested in Panama

Monday, January 16, 2023, at Tocumen International Airport in Panama, 8 Haitian citizens were arrested by airport migration agents in possession of false Panamanian transit visas.
The eight Haitians came from the Dominican Republic and were trying to transit via Panama to El Salvador.
"Each Haitian was immediately sent back to his country of origin or provenance, as the case may be," explained the migration service.
Let's remember that all Haitians are required to have a "transit visa" to stop over in Panama, a visa which must be requested in a consulate at least 15 days before the trip.
