In the morning of Friday January 20, 2023, a fire broke out in a clandestine fuel warehouse on street Alexis, not far from Jérémie prison, in the popular neighborhood of La Pointe.
Firefighters assigned to the airport were dispatched late to the scene to circumscribe the disaster, the service of the firefighters of the municipality being dysfunctional...
No victims were brought (death or burnt) but the damage is important, at least 10 houses were destroyed by fire...
