iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : Heading for Carnival 2023

After the great success of the International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince (PapJazz), Cap-Haitien puts the focus on the realization of its carnival.

The Municipal Commission of Cap-Haitien would like to inform the population, in general, craftsmen and revelers in particular, that the official organization of the carnival in Cap-Haitien will be held from February 17 to 21, 2023 under the theme "Ann Ede OKAP Kenbe Ayiti Vivan".

Following multiple meetings between actors and cultural operators, the Municipal Commission has chosen Marc Donald Bazile as General Coordinator of carnival activities this year. He will be accompanied by representatives of the following institutions:

1) A representative of the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien;

2) A representative of the Ministry of Culture and Communication;

3) A representative of the Ministry of Tourism;

4) A representative of the Press;

5) A representative of civil society.

The Carnival of the Students which is a Capoise originality in the traditional carnival in Haiti, will present this year very beautiful choreographies and special sound performances. The organization of this year's municipal carnival is part of a logic aimed at maintaining this tradition of living together and peace in the lives of Capoises and Capois.

The Municipal Commission wishes everyone a happy carnival in peace and encourages the participation of the private sector in these popular festivities.
