iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : A gang leader mortally wounded, 6 accomplices arrested

Sunday, February 26, 2023 in the afternoon during an operation carried out jointly by several units of the PNH : Departmental Service of Judicial Police, (SDPJ - North), the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order and the Brigade of Intervention of Cap, precisely in the areas of Cité du Peuple and Champin (neighborhoods located at the southern entrance of Cap-Haitien), the gang leader "Bòy", thus known, was mortally wounded in exchanges of fire with the police.
During this same operation, 6 of his accomplices have been arrested. The Police specify that "Bòy" as well as several of his men are part of a gang which seeks to terrorize the population in the suburbs of Cité du Peuple and Cité Chauvel. These individuals are implicated in several cases of shooting, burglary and ransom.
