iciHaiti - Insecurity : Churches close in Haiti, Pastor Maxo Joseph launches an international appeal
Saturday, April 15, Pastor Maxo Joseph, Founder of the Vision Foundation for Haiti and the World (VIHAMO), former candidate for the presidency of Haiti (0.57% of the votes) denounced from the Dominican Republic, the closure of the almost all of the churches in Haiti because of the racketeering and blackmail they are victims of by criminal gangs, who demand payments from them to allow the celebration of religious worship, evoking the multiplication of kidnappings of religious and faithful for ransom.

Faced with this situation he declared "[...] as a Pastor, I feel that I must appeal for my country for the support of the international community."

He called on the international to formalize support for Haiti to resolve the serious crisis the country is going through, while insisting that military intervention was not necessary, however, he asked for arms for Haitian citizens who are ready to defend the Nation.

"We don't want foreign soldiers, but we want their support to prepare our men, we have more than 15,000 police officers, we have soldiers, we can support them in respecting human rights..."
