iciHaiti - France : Inauguration of the solar power plant of the Port-au-Prince Police Station
As part of the cooperation between the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and the Directorate of Security and Defense Cooperation (DCSD) of France Diplomacy, the Ambassador of France, Fabrice Mauriès, inaugurated Wednesday at the police station of Port-au-Prince, a solar power plant with a capacity of 9KW.
Thanks to this plant, the police station will now be self-sufficient in terms of electricity. Ambassador Mauriès also handed over to the Inspector General of the PNH and to the Chief Commissioner of Port-au-Prince the keys of 17 motorcycles in order to strengthen their operational capacities. These donations are the first step of the 2023 cooperation plan.
According to the Ambassador, other announcements will follow "[...] training of agents in anti-gang techniques, including in France, donations of materials and equipment, permanent presence of a technical expert. France will do more in 2023 to help the PNH in its fight against insecurity."
