Sporadic automatic weapon fire was reported in the areas of Caridad, Fourchard, 1st Avenue Bolosse and Route des Dalles until 6 p.m. Several injured were recorded in the area according to testimonies.

In a note of reactions to this drama "[...] the Ministry of National Education condemns with all its might this criminal act on this young man who was looking for the path to knowledge, that bandits without faith or law have takes his breath away.

Once again, the Ministry raises its voice to say that everyone's life matters and that it is important to protect lives, especially children who go to school, who are the future of the country.

There is no future without youth and there will be no future without education it is up to all of us to protect our youth.

The Ministry extends its sympathies in particular to the family of this student, his friends and his classmates."
