iciHaiti - NORCECA Volleyball Tournament : 2nd defeat for our Grenadiers

As part of the Pan American Cup tournament of the Volleyball Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean (NORCECA) for under 21s which takes place from June 3rd to 11, 2023 in Havana (Cuba), after losing their opening match against the Dominican Republic on June 5, 25-13/25-23/25-22/ our Grenadiers lost again this time against Canada 25-9/25-17/25-20.

Our Grenadiers were as good technically and as determined as the Canadians but with a flagrant deficit in size and hours of training. Despite everything, Haiti managed to stay neck and neck with the Canadian team.

Unlike the match played the day before against the Dominican Republic, the team showed a much better face with much more aggressiveness and initiative, both in attack and against. our Grenadiers were good at serving and their defense adjusted, which allowed them to stay in the game, despite the obvious physical superiority of the opponent.

The pace of play imposed by Team Canada, added to the height deficit, resulted in the inability of our athletes to negotiate the phases of play well at these precise moments. Defeated 3 set to 0 our Grenadiers had the merit of not giving up and fighting proudly.

This new defeat underlines the Federation "reminds us once again of a very important truth : Excellence in high-level sport is played out in the details and it is only acquired with incessant and rigorous repetition in adapted infrastructures."
