Eng. Rosemond Pradel, Minister of Public Works Transport accompanied by his chief of staff, Eng. Mompremier Revel and the Director General of the Ministry, Eng. Pierre Charles Raymond, met on July 12, 2023 with representatives of the Dominican construction firm Estrella.

Discussions focused on two contracts signed between the ministry and the said firm for the rehabilitation of two sections on national road #1. The first contract concerns the Ennery-Plaisance road, work on which began 4 years ago, but discontinued due to the prevailing climate of insecurity in the country, according to the General Director of the firm, Mr. Campusano Raphaël supported by his teammate Mr. Seide Didier.

At Estrella's request, the MTPTC began negotiations with them in order to reach an amicable solution to the conflict between the two parties.

The second part of this contract concerned the Plaisance-Camp Coq route. Unfortunately, this contract was not executed. In this sense, the ministry intends to cancel it and launch a new call for tenders.

It should be noted that this session was held in the presence of representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank, the coordinator of UCE, Gaétan Youance and the Project Director Clerjuste Jocelyn.
