iciHaiti - Reduction of violence : Actions to be taken in favor of young people

Raymonde Rival, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action met on July 18, 2023 Mrs. Aimée Faye Thérèse Diouf, Head of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration / Community Violence Reduction (DDR / CVR) section of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) around joint actions to be undertaken in favor of young people in sensitive neighborhoods across the country.
The actions of the Inter-Institutional Working Group, the involvement of youth in a comprehensive national security strategy, the role of institutions in promoting peace and reducing violence were the main points discussed during this meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere.
Other meetings are planned for the next few weeks to define strategies and put in place action mechanisms for real community recovery and a new orientation for youth.
