The selected representatives of Cuba and Haiti will participate in the Pan American Baseball Tournament for 11-12 year olds, dedicated to Luis Abinader, which will be held from August 10 to 20, 2023 in the Dominican Republic alongside Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador, Venezuela, the United States, Mexico, Colombia and the Dominicans.

This was declared by Luis Mercedes, who described the presence of players from Cuba and Haiti "as transcendental", because it had been a long time since baseball, in any category, had been able to bring together players from these 2 countries.

"The presence of Cuba and Haiti will give even more quality to the event, Cuba to be a great power and Haiti to continue to follow the path in this discipline," he added.

Ariel Paulino, responsible for international affairs of the organizing committee underlined "This year, we will have a record number of participating countries."
