A trained agronomist, human rights defender and devoted family man, Jean Jacques Honorat served as Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Haiti from October 11, 1991 to June 19, 1992. "In this painful circumstance, the Forum of Former Prime Ministers of Haiti (FAPM), presents its sincere condolences to his wife, Mrs. Yvelie Honorat, to his children, to all the members of his family and to all those who are affected by this loss. We will forever remember his commitment to Haiti as well as his legacy as a leader and a man of conviction." Messages of sympathy :: Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry : "I learned with sorrow of the death of Jean-Jacques Honorat, Prime Minister for the period from October 1991 to June 1992. He was one of the major figures in the defense of human rights in the 70s, 80s and 90s. This agronomist and lawyer by training was a brilliant intellectual. Our country has just lost a beautiful mind, a thinker. I would like to salute the memory of a great son of the Nation. I extend my condolences to his family, loved ones, and former colleagues."
