On the night of Sunday July 30 to Monday July 31, 2023 in Belladère (Central Dept.) two individuals Paniague Nevelt and Jules Oslet were arrested during an operation carried out by the Intervention and Research Brigade (BRI) supported by a team of SWAT.

3 automatic weapons, ammunition and several other objects were seized during this operation which aimed to fight against the trafficking of arms and ammunition at the border linking Belladère to the Dominican Republic.

Seized items :

- 1 UZI of series UP09698 and 2 chargers.

- 1 MTS 08609 series AR15 assault rifle and 2 magazines.

- 1 Valero automatic rifle serial 027953 and a magazine.

- 327 US dollars

- 37 cartridges of caliber 5.56mm, 4 cartridges of caliber 12mm and 10 cartridges of caliber 9mm.

- 4 mobile phones

- 1 black Toyota 4Runner vehicle, registered FF-02281

Should be noted that one of the potential suspects, Mackenson Tenvil, alias "Macken", had time to flee during the operation. He was arrested a few hours later in a hospital center in the Dominican Republic to be transferred to Port au Prince.
