ici Haiti - U17 Women's World Cup : Storm Franklin delays the movement of the grenadières

The delegation of the U-17 women's team was scheduled to leave Port-au-Prince this Wednesday, August 23 to fly to the Dominican Republic, but the passage of Tropical Storm Franklin on the island caused a postponement of this trip...

Let's recall that our Grenadières are going to conquer first place in Group B, synonymous with qualification for the 2nd phase of the qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA World Cup. For this, the Haitian team led by new coach Marc Ogé https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-40332-icihaiti-football-marc-oge-new-coach-of-the-u-17-women-s-team.html must make the difference against Antigua & Barbuda on August 25, Barbados on August 27 and Cuba on August 29 at the San Cristobal Pan American Stadium in the Dominican Republic.

The 2nd phase will be played with the participation of eight teams divided into two groups, the 6 group winners + USA and Canada (exempted from the first phase). At the end of the 2nd phase, the two finalists and the winning team of the ranking, will accompany the Dominican Republic, host country, as the 4 representatives of Concacaf at this FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Last minute : Opponent of Haiti in the first match of Group B of the Concacaf U-17 women's championship, the Antigua & Barbuda team has withdrawn and will not be present at the competition. Haiti will play 2 matches instead of 3 accordingly : Barbados on August 27 and Cuba on August 29.

Our Grenadières will leave Haiti for the neighboring Republic (San Cristobal) on August 25, 2023.
