The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) informs that it has arrested and expelled to Haiti in August 2023, 23,829 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation on Dominican territory, through simultaneous operations in different parts of the national territory during the month of August, by order of Venancio Alcántara, Director General of the DGM
The DGM agents were supported by agents of the Specialized Border Security Corps (CESFRONT), members of the Dominican army, agents of the national police and others...
Migration control operations were carried out in the provinces of San Juan de la Maguana, Barahona, Independencia, Elías Peña, Azua and Peravia, as well as in Greater Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Santiago and Puerto Plata.
