iciHaiti - Education : First results and measurements of the Survey on displaced children and teachers

First preliminary results of the Ministry's investigation on displaced children and teachers. As of September 15, 2023 there were: 3,889 children and adolescents, 294 teachers in 25 schools in Port-au-Prince serving as accommodation, including 49.6% girls. 82% in school, 9% out of school. 48% claiming to be traumatized.
The acceleration of the Lycée Marie-Jeanne construction site, the development of new educational centers in Port-au-Prince and in the provinces, facilities and exemptions for the reception of students displaced to other public schools and the acceleration of the establishment of the Lycée Numérique National platform (Lise2_0) in conjunction with the Télévision Educative 102.1 FM RTE radio station, are among the first measures to facilitate the return to school.
Discussions and negotiations with partners for the gradual recovery of schools are continuing. The investigation is progressing.
