iciHaiti - NOTICE : Flood warning maintened

Monday, October 29, 2023, the Haiti Hydrometeorological Unit maintained the flood warning that it had launched last weekend, due to heavy rains and thunderstorms which are expected to affect several departments of Haiti until October 31. This situation is due to a low pressure center located to the north of the Dominican Republic as well as an area of bad weather which continues to cause an unstable weather situation in the Atlantic and the Greater Antilles.
The departments of North-West, North, North-East, West, South-East and Grand'Anse are under threat of flooding due to the rains which are expected to fall on the country of Sunday to Tuesday October 31.
The Hydrometeorological Unit, in collaboration with the Permanent Secretariat which manages Disaster Risks and the General Directorate of Civil Protection, asks all people living in areas prone to flooding, landslides and landslides, to remain vigilant and take all safety precautions during heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
