The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (RUEH) learned with great sadness and pain the news of the death of Professor Hérard Jadotte, writer and former Director of Editions of the UEH, which occurred on Sunday, November 26, 2023 .

A specialist in the world of publishing, Mr. Hérard Jadotte headed "Editions de l’UEH" from 2008 to 2017. It was with him that this structure took its first steps. He is the author of several books and journal articles on various fields. Among his works, we can note : "Cours d'histoire de la littérature haïtienne" and "Haïti et l'après-Duvalier : continuités et ruptures".

A great intellectual, a man of good business, dynamic and committed, Mr. Jadotte has devoted an entire career to serving the publishing sector in Haiti. His departure undoubtedly constitutes a great loss for the country.

The UEH Rectorate bows before the mortal remains of Director Jadotte. He extends his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, particularly to Professor Janin Jadotte, member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Sciences, to his former colleagues at Editions de l'UEH, to his friends and to all those affected by this mourning.

It should be noted that a booklet will be available from Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Editions de l'UEH (#3, Rue Pacot) to receive the sympathies and tributes of those interested in Professor Hérard Jadotte.
