"A versatile artist, Ronald Mevs has shined as a painter, sculptor and creator of contemporary furniture. His works are imbued with founding Afro-Caribbean cultures. The institution is proud to count him among the creators whose works are part of its precious collection.

Visitors to the museum had the opportunity to appreciate the creations of this great artist through temporary exhibitions, notably 'Rencontre', in August 2014. The latter was devoted to contemporary Haitian art.

Posterity will remain grateful to the famous Ronald Mevs for the quality of his works and for his commitment to keeping alive 'Haitian popular memory' through his art.

In this painful circumstance, the Haitian National Pantheon Museum asks his family, his loved ones and all Haitian artists affected by this disappearance to receive the expression of its sincere condolences."
