After evaluating the functionality of 10 District Health Units (Unités Arrondissement de Santé - UAS) as well as the capacities of 10 community referral hospitals, 5 departmental hospitals and the 5 Departmental Health Directorates (DDS), the Health Support Unit Health Decentralization (UADS) of the Ministry of Public Health has managed to identify many gaps and specific needs.

Carried out with the technical and financial support of USAID-Haiti via the Health Leadership Project /Human Resources for Health (HLP/HRH) project, this evaluation made it possible to proceed with the development of the plan development of UAS 2024-2029 in order to operationalize the health decentralization strategy as prescribed in the MSPP roadmap.

The official presentation of the Plan took place in the presence of Alex Larsen Minister of Public Health, the Secretary of State for Population, the Director General, several central directors and executives of the Ministry.
