3 active members of the Canaan gang (Kesnel, Doudly and Nabo), were fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the Police, on December 11, 2023, in the Despinos area (Commune of Croix-des-Bouquets). During This intervention, weapons were also seized by the Police.

Patrolling several areas of the commune, including Bourg en Bourg, Ona Ville 18 and 22, "Bò Sab", agents of the Departmental Law Enforcement Unit (UDMO/West-2) surprised these three individuals in the act of ransom of peaceful citizens frequenting the Despinos area.

Surprised by the police patrol, the bandits opened fire on the police who immediately responded fatally.

According to police sources, these three individuals were involved in assassinations in Canaan.
