Saturday January 6, 2024 at Tabarre 25, the Haitian National Police (PNH) released two female hostages during an operation carried out by the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG).

During this operation, one of the alleged kidnappers Rémy Mackenley has been arrested and a firearm seized.

The two hostages (unharmed), one of whom was 57 years old, were kidnapped on Tuesday January 2nd, 2024, at Tabarre 25, by armed individuals traveling on a motorcycle, when they were were getting ready to return home. There were three people in a vehicle when the thugs ordered them to stop, demanded that a young boy get out of the car, then kidnapped the two other women.

According to the first information available to the Police, a ransom of 600,000 US dollars was demanded from their family, in exchange for their release.
