The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) mourns the departure for eternity of German central defender Frantz Bekenbauer alias "The Kaiser" (the Emperor) who died on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at the age of 78.

"Iconic figure of world football, Bekenbauer throughout his career (player-coach-manager), has always demonstrated leadership, courage, determination and elegance.

The world of football will never forget his moments of suffering (broken collarbone) to end the historic semi-final match against Italy in Mexico in 1970.
