Thursday January 18, 2024, during a meeting with Ahmed Attaf, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was held Thursday in Munyonyo, Uganda (East Africa), Musalia Mudavadi, the First Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Kenya expressed Kenya's appreciation for Algeria's political and financial support to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in Haiti.

Dr. Mudavadi affirmed Kenya's commitment to leading international efforts to support the quest for peace and stability in Haiti. Minister Attaf promised the continuation of Algeria's collaboration with Kenya on this issue.

The two ministers also discussed the conflict between Israel and Hamas and jointly called for the imperative to de-escalate hostilities and end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Both Kenya and Algeria have stressed the need for a two-state solution, in line with the UN declaration for a lasting resolution of the conflict.
