Claude Joazard, a doctor by profession, Vice-Consul of Haiti in Dajabón, was the target of hooded and armed individuals who shot him in front of the Cap-Haitien airport, mortally wounded he died on the spot.

He was known as a strict, hardworking person and defender of the rights of Haitians at the border post between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. During the last elections, he was a candidate for mayor of the municipality of Ouanaminthe.

The violence worries Haitian consular officials in the North-East of Haiti. The majority say they have taken their family to safety outside the territory due to insecurity…
