The National Ambulance Center (CAN) has provided us with its summary statistical assessment of the pre-hospital care of various emergency cases carried out during the month of January 2024.

Of the 575 cases supported by the CAN in January 2024 (-61.56% compared to the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-41438-icihaiti-health-report-of-the-national-ambulance-center-december-2023.html ), transfers (42%) and obstetric emergencies (19%) were the two most important items.

Number and types of interventions :

2 suspected cases of cholera;

25 cases of respiratory distress (not associated with Covid-19);

34 cases of chronic diseases (various pathologies);

107 obstetric emergencies;

3 Accidents on public roads;

242 transfers (references and laboratory examinations);

10 traumas (injuries & fractures of varying degrees);

21 gunshot wounds;

9 stab wounds;

4 cases of burns

88 various conditions (discomfort, diarrhea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc...)

Of the 575 cases supported by the CAN: 358 interventions took place in the West, 89 in Artibonite, 28 in Grand'Anse, 25 in the North, 20 in the North-East, 19 in the South , 19 in the South-East, 17 in Nippes.
