An operation by the Cap-Haïtien police on the road to the airport, in Fort Saint-Michel, led to the arrest of Mitchell Winston Evan, a Jamaican drug trafficker and the seizure of 192.5 kg of marijuana...

Upon seeing the police, the trafficker pushed his vehicle into the sea with the drugs. Arrested, he admitted that a boat at sea with accomplices was ready to recover the goods. Police recovered the vehicle and the drugs the same day.

Besides the trafficker there were 2 other people in the car Amos Lebrun, the driver and a young person who had paid to be taken illegally to the Dominican Republic. The driver managed to escape and the injured young man was treated in a city hospital.
