The General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (DGPNH) provides a formal denial concerning the rumors circulating on social networks suggesting that the base of the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID), located in Fort-National, (Dept. West) will be relocated.

A rumor which caused panic among members of the population in the area.

The General Directorate of the PNH asks the population to remain calm, while asking them not to let themselves be intoxicated and manipulated by false allegations.

Furthermore, the DGPNH notes and deplores a smear campaign launched on social networksv aimed at destabilizing the police institution. She would like to urge the general population to be vigilant and inviting them to consult all official channels of the PNH and credible media, in order to verify all information relating to the activities and measures of the police institution.
