Friday March 29, 2024 afternoon, Alexandre Ananel, an Agent 2 of the Haitian National Police (PNH), assigned to the Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM) and Musca Michelet, a security agent of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) have been arrested in Devarye (locality of Mirebalais) during a routine check by police officers from the Mirebalais police station

During their arrest, the two men in a black Nissan Xterra car, registered AA-49833, were in possession of more than 6.3 million gourdes and 20,000 US dollars intended to purchase smuggled weapons and ammunition for the gangs at the border in Beladère.

The police also found on them 2 9mm caliber pistols with 6 magazines filled with bullets and a box of 50 cartridges and 7 mobile phones.

These individuals were taken into custody at the police station when an angry crowd burst into the building. Despite all the efforts made by the police to protect the 2 detainees, the population released them and lynched them before burning their bodies.
