Friday April 12, 2024, the Ambassador of Haiti to Argentina, Vilbert Bélizaire, accompanied by staff of the Mission and members of the Haitian Community in Argentina, in the presence of Captain Gustavo Adolfo Principi, Director General of Education of the Navy of Argentina, Captain Pablo Herman Basso, Director of the Naval School and the Former Director General of Education of the Navy, Rear Admiral Cristian Marcelo Tarapow, proceeded to the unveiling of the bust of the President of Haiti Alexandre Pétion (March 9, 1807 – March 29, 1818), recognized as the Father of Pan-Americanism for his contribution to the liberation of the countries of South America and for having laid the foundations of inter-American military cooperation.

In his intervention, Ambassador Bélizaire recalled how Haiti was decisive in promoting the right to self-determination of peoples which has become a flagship principle of the process of harmonization and pacification of international relations carried loud and clear since the end of the Second World War by the United Nations.
