iciHaiti - Port-de-Paix : New public square at Sreet Monfort
As part of the activities of the first component of the Temporary Social Safety Net and Skills for Youth Program, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), built a public square of 90m2 on Street Monfort in the town of Port-de-Paix.

This square is a friendly and functional space created for residents and visitors of the neighborhood (Dèyè ti Pòdpè). It was selected following a popular consultation where residents of local communities identified problems and suggested solutions, with a particular focus on projects involving the participation of local youth.

To this end, several of them benefited from temporary employment during the completion of the work. In total, 79 direct beneficiaries (59 men and 20 women) were affected by this project. In addition, the project has an indirect impact on 395 other members of the community, who will benefit from the improvement of public space.

The project was carried out in several stages, including mobilization, siting, masonry of blocks, installation of wrought iron chairs, installation of wrought iron fences, installation of street lights to ensure the night lighting, the installation of a basketball hoop, the installation of plastic bins, painting work, the laying of rolled gravel, the construction of beds for the development of plant areas, as well as the finishing works and demobilization. The project started on October 10, 2023 and ended on December 31, 2023.
