iciHaiti - Politic : Presidential Advisor Jean provides an update on the CPT
Monday May 27, 2024, Advisor Fritz Alphonse Jean declared on the airs of a radio of the capital that the decree, establishing, organizing and functioning of the Presidential Council had been signed by all the members of the Council for publication in the official journal "Le Moniteur" during this week.

According to the Advisor, the CPT is putting in place the necessary measures to address the insecurity that is plaguing the country without specifying its contours...

Concerning the appointment of the Prime Minister, Jean indicated that the lines continued to move in order to choose a Head of Government but that nothing had yet been decided.

He also reported ob the creation of the National Security Council (CNS), which will serve as an interface between the State and the multinational force.

Finally, he urged all stakeholders concerned to prioritize the interest of the population.

Concerning the appointment of the transitional Prime Minister, the Council will meet this Tuesday, May 28, 2024, individually and privately at the Villa d'Accueil, the five finalist candidates (the most likely) Fritz Bélizaire, Gary Conille, Paul Antoine Bien- Aimé, Didier Fils-Aimé and Rodolphe Joazil. At the end of these hearings, 3 candidates will be selected and after a vote by at least 5 out of 7 advisors, the name of the next Prime Minister should be announced.
