Very early Thursday June 27, 2024, heavily armed men from the "400 Mawozo" gang set fire to the premises of the Croix-des-Bouquets Town Hall, in the absence of police presence in the town, the police station having been deserted since February 29, 2024.

A garbage collection truck and two generators were also set on fire

Other State institutions such as the Commissariat and the General Directorate of Taxes would also have been targeted...

Let's remember that this is not the first time that bandits have attacked the town hall. On March 8, the premises were attacked, looted and vandalized. More than 20 years of municipal archives had disappeared in this attack.

Croix-des-Bouquets is in the hands of the men of the "400 Mawozo" whose powerful Chief Wilson Joseph alias "Lanmo San Jou" acts with complete impunity, his heavily armed men parading daily in the streets to maintain their domination and terror in population...
