With the aim of transforming the North Department into an exemplary model of economic and social development, the Municipal Commission of Cap-Haitien took the initiative to organize a meeting for exchanges and information with five Universities of the North, all recognized for their comprehensive training programs covering various fields related to the management of local authorities.

The discussions focused on the establishment of a formal collaboration between the Municipality of Cap-Haïtien, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the North (CCI-Nord) and these Universities.

The main objective of this collaboration is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the Municipality and the CCI-Nord, in order to promote harmonious and sustainable development of the North Department.

This initiative marks the beginning of a new era of inter-institutional cooperation by 2030 and beyond. Indeed, this collaboration aims to restore a positive and dynamic image to the North Department, with a particular focus on Cap-Haïtien. The proposed Memorandum of Understanding is seen as a catalyst to mobilize the human, academic and economic resources needed to carry out this ambitious project.
