Joanus Dufenede, the Director of the market, asked Dominican traders to report to the administration so that they could secure a space and thus sell their goods on Haitian territory "[...] we are ready to receive all Dominicans who come to sell in the Haitian part, just as we trade with Dominicans in the Dominican part."

Joanus Dufenede, said that he guarantees the safety not only of Dominicans, but also of Haitians who frequent the new place. Dufenede said that the market facilities have a surveillance center where a communication system works to talk to all the staff.

Clarifying "The new Ouanaminthe market has a system for 48 surveillance cameras but at the moment there are only 24 installed, while it is expected that in the coming days that the camera installations will continue."
