Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Cap-Haitien at the Roi Christophe hotel, the screening-debate of the grand premiere of the film "KIDNAPPING Inc" took place in an atmosphere charged with emotion and pride. This feature film, directed by the talented Bruno Mourral, a native of Cap-Haïtien, does not seek to glorify kidnapping, but uses this sadly widespread phenomenon as a backdrop to explore the many realities that plague the country's capital

Through a rich and poignant plot, the film highlights deep issues: greed, corruption, and broken dreams, while capturing the hope and benevolence that characterize the Haitian people.

Summary :
"In Port-au-Prince, the son of a wealthy Senator running for president has just been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a high ransom. Doc and Zoe are two amateur gangsters who are crazy about football and must deliver the young man to their ruthless boss. Impulsive, Zoe accidentally kills the candidate's son.

With a hitman on their tail, Doc and Zoe stumble upon Patrick and Laura, a young couple on their way to the airport. Laura, nine months pregnant, is determined to give birth to an American baby. Unfortunately, Patrick looks exactly like the senator's son.

Doc and Zoe decide to kidnap the couple and replace the candidate's son with his lookalike Patrick. In the middle of a controversial presidential election and a political conspiracy, Doc and Zoe embark on one of Haiti's craziest kidnappings"

It is a critical but humane look that Mourral takes on his home country, offering viewers an intense and emotional reflection.

This Grand Premiere was crowned by the presence of local personalities, including the President of the Office du Tourisme du Nord (OGDNH) and the Mayor of Cap-Haïtien, who paid tribute to Bruno Mourral for his work. A special distinction was awarded to him, in recognition of his contribution to Haitian culture and cinema.

With "KIDNAPPING Inc.", Mourral reminds us that behind Haiti's challenges lie stories of resilience, struggle, but also dreams that are forever unshakeable.
